ToBRFV: A Serious Threat to the Tomato Industry
ToBRFV poses a serious threat to tomato cultivation worldwide. Since its first European detection in late 2018, the virus has been spreading at lightning speed. Once a ToBRFV infection develops in a plant, there is no cure. This demonstrates the urgent need for effective preventive measures and solutions.
Currently, ToBRFV classifies as a pathogen with a quarantine status, but it is expected that this may be revised to an RNQP status (Regulated Non-Quarantine Pathogen) by early 2025.
