African Swine Fever (ASF)
African Swine Fever is a highly contagious disease that affects pigs and wild boars caused by the African Swine Fever virus (ASFV), a member of the Asfarviridae family. ASF is not dangerous to humans, but it is highly contagious and can spread incredibly fast among pigs and wild boars, and therefore causes heavy economic losses. The typical signs of ASF include fever, bleeding, vomiting, loss of appetite, redness of skin, lack of energy and even sudden death.
